"Handle With Care" published on Amazon

Hi Everyone.  I just thought I'd drop in and let you know that my original m/m Christmas romance novelette (approximately 18,000 words) is now available for the Kindle on Amazon.  You don't actually need a Kindle to read it, because you can also read your kindle books in a web-browser app or on many other devices (pc, phone, etc.) using free apps provided by Amazon (find them here).  If you do have a Kindle and you're a member of Amazon Prime, you can also borrow the story for free!  Otherwise it's only $.99 so if you want to buy it, it hopefully won't make a huge dent in your budget.  You can find the story here: http://www.amazon.com/Handle-With-Care-Romance-ebook/dp/B00AQNPV0K

If you do buy it and enjoy it, I'd really appreciate if you told your friends and left a review on Amazon.  Word of mouth advertising is critical for self-published authors, and Amazon reviews help other readers who do not know my fan fiction work make their purchasing decisions. If you have time you can also hit the "like" button on the Amazon page below the book title (You need to be logged into your Amazon account to do this, I think).  Amazon uses the number of "likes" in their algorithms that ultimately calculate the popularity of a book and  determine where the book gets listed in reader searches.

Thank you all for your support and rest assured that I have not given up on my fan fiction.  As we speak I'm finishing my NaNo novel and fully intend to go back to writing Errors when that is done.  I have it on good authority that things will be less crazy at work in 2013, which means that I will be less cranky and hopefully will be able to finish up Errors for you in a jiffy. And as I said before, this time I will wait until it is all done before I start posting, so that once I start posting again you will be assured that the rest of the story will be forthcoming without any further delays. I'll post updates here periodically as I write to let you know how I'm doing.

Thanks again and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year!

2012 NaNoWriMo Success!

If you've visited the blog in the month of November you may already have seen the NaNoWriMo word counter in the sidebar.  I had always planned to use this year's NaNoWriMo to get Errors 50,000 words closer to the end, but unfortunately work got crazy again and I became tired and cranky and that tone started seeping into the story at a time when the E&O boys should have been much happier. I therefore decided to shelve Errors again until things calm down a little.

At first I wasn't going to write anything at all, but not writing makes me really unhappy, so I decided that I needed to write something that would match my mood.  And lo and behold, right before the start of November, a new plot bunny jumped into my brain. And now, 29 days and a little over 50K words later, I'm about 85% done with a new m/m YA novel. Yay!

Since I seem to be on a roll, I will continue writing this new story until it is done, which should be before the end of the year. I obviously wrote it very quickly, so it will undoubtedly need a lot of editing, but I love the characters and I really think the bones are good.  I'm hopeful that I'll be able to self-publish the book some time next year.

In the meantime, if I can get my act together in the next few weeks, I still have a Christmas-themed original short story that I may self-publish before the end of the year.  If I manage to find the time to pull that off, I will be sure to post here. :)

So what about Errors?  As I've said repeatedly before, Errors will be finished eventually, no matter how long it takes. Fortunately, the projects that have been driving me crazy at work are all scheduled to be completed by year's end, and come January things should go back to normal.  If that happens, I'm sure Edward will eagerly come back and I will go back to writing.  I'll probably post an update here and on twitter when I figure it out. Going forward, however, I will make one change.  I will finish writing the entire story before I start posting more chapters.  While I enjoy episodic writing, lately I've noticed that I write better and faster without the editing/posting interruptions, so writing the story straight through the end will hopefully bring the sum of it to you faster, even if the next chapter will be delayed even more as a result. I promise that once I am done I will not make you wait long between chapter posts - I'll probably do one every week until the story is done.

Okay, sorry for the rambling and for my prolonged absence.  I'll try to do a better job of providing updates in the future. :)

Liz

p.s. I know some of you will wonder why I'm choosing to self-publish instead of submitting my originals to a publisher (especially since I'm lousy at things like choosing titles, writing blurbs and making covers.)  I've actually given it a lot of thought, and there are many reasons why self-publishing feels like the right way to go, not the least of which is my horrible impatience. I still need the instant gratification of being able to press my own "publish" button :). It may turn out to be a mistake, but I'll never know until I try.  If nothing else, it will be a learning experience.

Chapter 29 of Culture Aftershock is up!

I'm so excited.  Yesterday John posted chapter 29 of Culture Aftershock, and this one features my favorite - Garrett!  Don't worry, many of the other boys are there too, though when Garrett's around it's hard for me to concentrate on anyone else :-P.  I only wish I had a large fortune for him to manage!  You'll find the chapter on fanfiction by clicking here.  Enjoy and leave John some review love!

Chapter 10 of Linden Gardens, Notting Hill is up!

Good morning lovely readers! Just wanted to let you know that over the weekend John posted a new chapter of Linden Gardens, Notting Hill.  You can find it on Ao3 or (at least for the time being) on fanfiction.

It's a fantastic chapter where we get to know Viktor's family a little better.  Readers of Errors & Omissions may want to know that in this chapter you can also get a little insight into what Jasper was thinking back when he and Edward met up in Chicago.

Enjoy and leave John some love!

This Side of the Rainbow - Errors & Omissions Outtake

Due to some unexpected business at work and at home, writing the next Errors chapter is taking longer than I hoped.  I can't make that happen any faster, but I thought that in the meantime you may want to read an outtake that I wrote last year that had previously only been available as part of a group of stories accessible only to readers who contributed to a fundraiser against domestic violence.  The outtake is exactly that - not really a necessary part of the story - but both John and I referenced events and characters from it in our E&O stories and it goes into more detail on the work Edward does at Rainbow Beginnings, so I thought you all might enjoy it.  Click here to read.

Chapter 28 of Jtrue's Culture Aftershock is up!

Although John fully intends to post all of his three E&O 'Verse stories on Archive of Our Own, he hasn't had enough time lately to finish doing so.  Therefore, instead of making all the readers wait indefinitely for the next installment, he decided to risk posting chapter 29 of Culture Aftershock on fanfiction.  Hopefully this will not trigger any sort of a review and removal of his stories, but if it does, rest assured, they will at some point all be available again on AO3.  In the meantime, click on this link for the latest chapter of Culture Aftershock and enjoy!

Chapter 62 of Errors & Omissions is up!

The hiatus is over!

I am back in a writing groove and am so pleased to bring you Chapter 62 of Errors & Omissions a little ahead of my own anticipated schedule.

If you know anyone who used to read the story, I'd appreciate if you could let them know that the new chapter is up, just in case they haven't heard what happened and don't know about the blog.

You'll find the AN post on the chapter as well as the chapter itself on its story blog at http://errorsandomissionsbyohjaspermyjasper.blogspot.com/

Enjoy!

Chapter 21 of Enticements and Obstruction has been posted

As you all already know,  John posted Chapter 8 of Linden Gardens, Notting Hill this morning.  You car go read it by clicking here.

As many of you know, from time to time John and I write overlapping chapters, where we show you the same scene from different points of view.  Writing in first person, I can only show you what Rick sees and hears.  John, on the other hand, can show you the other characters. What that means is that this chapter is even more of a collaboration than most of our writing, and we really worked closely together on this chapter to get each character's tone just right. With that all said, I would recommend reading John's chapter first, and then coming back to see the events from Rick's POV. But ultimately the reading order is up to you.

I will tell you that this is the last of such chapters in this story.  There will be a few more overlapping moments in future chapters, but for the most part, Enticements and LGNH will diverge and show you completely different events with little repetition.

You'll find Chapter 21on the Enticements and Obstructions blog by clicking here. Chapter 22 will be posted in two weeks.  Happy reading and if you have a moment, leave a comment and let me know what you thought.  Your feedback (good, bad, or indifferent) is always appreciated!

New Update

This is just to let everyone know that in addition to posting all available chapters of Enticements & Obstructions on its story blog, I have also posted the complete Equal & Opposite story on its story blog.  You'll find links to both blogs in the side bar.

Also, John (Jtrue) is setting up shop at Archive of Our Own (Ao3).  Like me, he is slowly uploading chapters of his stories.  All of the currently available chapters of Linden Garden, Notting Hill have been posted and a new, previously unavailable, chapter may be posted there soon.  John will also upload all of the chapters of Culture Shock as well as all available chapters of Culture Aftershock, as his time permits. Links to all of John's stories on Ao3 are likewise in the sidebar.

As always, I would highly encourage you to read John's stories for the richness and sweetness they bring to the E&O 'Verse.  Although John's stories focus on different characters, we work together to create a seamless universe for you and very often he gives you glimpses into characters featured in the E&O stories that I simply cannot.

Thank you all for following us and our stories to their respective new homes. If you have time after reading, please do leave us comments to let us know what you thought (good or bad.)  We get a lot of personal satisfaction from writing these stories, but your feedback is really invaluable and the only way for us to know how we're doing. :)

Last but not least, I am in the process of uploading all the Errors & Omissions chapters.  As you know, there are a lot of them, so it will likely take some time. Rest assured, however, that the entire story available so far will eventually be posted.  As soon as that's done, I will go back to writing that long overdue next chapter so we can all finally find out what happened on the Mountain!

Thank you again for all your support.

Hugs and Love,

Liz

Latest Updates

I have now set up a blog for Enticements and am in the process of uploading the stories to the blogs.  The links to all three story blogs are in the sidebar.  In the future I will post each new chapter to its story blog and to this blog. If you subscribe to this blog, you will get notices of the updates to both Errors and Enticements, as well as my author updates (in the event I actually manage to write and publish some original fiction or decide to write more fanfic stories.)  If you're only interested in only one of those stories, you can subscribe by e-mail for updates to that story's blog.  I hope that makes sense. :)

John is currently deciding where to move his stories.  As soon as he has a new home for them, I will post the links here and on my other blogs.

Thanks again for following me here and I hope the reminders of the stories will be worth the inconvenience. :)

End of an Era

If you're reading this, I guess you already know that fan fiction deleted all my stories.  For what it's worth, I'm okay with that.  It's a bit of a pain, but nothing I can't handle.  I'm in the process of uploading Errors to the blog I already have set up for that story and will set up a new blog for Enticements as well. For now, I will post the latest update to Enticements here, because I know some of you did not get to finish reading it there.

I do have one request.  For various reasons, including time, I will only re-post my WIP stories to my blog.  If you made personal copies of those or any of my other fan fiction stories, please feel free to continue to enjoy them personally, but do not post them to any other internet site or distribute them to other people.  Thanks!

Watch this blog for more information on where you will be able to find Errors & Omissions as well as Enticements and Obstructions.

XOXO

Liz

PS. Your comments, like reviews, are always welcome and appreciated!
